Dr. Lam has 13 years of experience in rheumatology. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.
Dr. Lam has 15 years of clinical and translational research with various institutions, including Princeton University, Duke University, the National Institutes of Health, the Arthritis Foundation, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and Atrium Health. He has participated in clinical studies for rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s syndrome, gout, spondylarthritis, and HIV. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and abstracts.
Dr. Lam has received several awards including Top Care Provider at Atrium Health, Patient’s Choice Award, Compassionate Doctor Award, and Top 10 Doctor Award for both the Charlotte Metropolitan Region and North Carolina.
Dr. Lam obtained his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and his medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine, where he also completed his internal medicine residency. He served his rheumatology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and was an invited House Officer at the University of Oxford.
Dr. Lam is married with two sons (ages 13 and 9). Having grown up in Hawaii, he loves water sports like surfing and snorkeling. He also enjoys golfing and participating in his sons’ activities like Cub Scouts, basketball, Tae Kwon Do, soccer, and piano.
